🧾Proposal Types & Safeguards

To ensure a robust and secure governance process, the Jackpotter platform has established different proposal types with varying requirements, as well as a set of safeguards to protect the ecosystem from malicious or harmful proposals.

Proposal Types

There are four main types of proposals, each with its own quorum, approval threshold, and timelock:

Proposal Type
Quorum
Approval Threshold
Timelock

Parameter Changes

5% of total staked voting power

66%

48 hours

Feature Additions

10% of total staked voting power

66%

7 days

Treasury Spending (>5M JPT)

15% of total staked voting power

75%

14 days

Protocol Upgrades

20% of total staked voting power

80%

21 days

These varying requirements ensure that more significant changes to the platform require a higher level of community consensus and a longer review period.

Governance Safeguards

To protect the Jackpotter ecosystem, several safeguards have been implemented:

chevron-rightEmergency Vetohashtag

The 4-of-5 multi-sig wallet can veto any proposal that threatens the security of the platform, violates regulations, or contains critical bugs. A public explanation is required for any veto.

chevron-rightProposal Cancellationhashtag

The proposer can cancel their proposal at any time before the voting period ends.

Stakers can delegate their voting power to another staker, allowing them to participate in governance even if they are unable to vote themselves.

A 24-hour staking delay is required before a user becomes eligible to vote. This prevents flash loan attacks and other attempts to manipulate the voting process.
